Frequently Asked Questions

How Head Spa Works?
Our hair cycle includes four phases — anagen, catagen, telegen, and exogen. The longest and most significant phase is the anagen. This phase can last between 2-6 years and allows hair to grow approximately 1 cm every 28 days. Our goal at The Head Spa is to aid the anagen process giving you longer, thicker, and more luxurious hair.
Who is The Head Spa?
The Head Spa is Connecticut’s first-ever Herbal Head Spa. In the last few years, head spas have slowly made their way to the US. I’m so excited to bring head spas to Connecticut and for you to enjoy your very first “Herbal Head Spa”!
The Head Spa Services
A Head Spa includes, but is not limited to, deep scalp massage, herbal oil treatments, cleansing hair masks, scalp exfoliation, steam therapy, Ayurvedic hair rinses, and of course, an invigorating shampoo and conditioning treatment. These services will gently clean the scalp of any dirt, oils, product build-up, or aging skin cells. A head spa also increases blood flow to our hair follicles which encourages hair growth.

Spa ETIQUETTE & Pre care instructions
We are delighted that you have chosen The Head Spa CT before your head scalp & Facial treatment. To ensure you have the best experience and maximize the benefits of your treatment, we kindly ask you to follow these pre-care instructions
Avoid using heavy conditioners or styling products that may weigh down your hair or create a barrier on your scalp.
Inform us about allergies or sensitivities: If you have any known allergies or sensitivities to specific ingredients or products, please inform our staff beforehand. This will help us ensure that we select the most suitable products for your scalp treatment.
Arrive with clean hair: On the day of your appointment, make sure your hair is clean and free from styling products. We want to provide you with the best treatment possible, and starting with clean hair allows our products to penetrate your scalp effectively.
Avoid hair styling: Refrain from using heat styling tools, such as straighteners, curling irons, or blow dryers, for at least 24 hours before your treatment. These appliances can dry out your scalp and may make it more sensitive to the treatment.
Stay hydrated: Proper hydration is essential for healthy skin, including your scalp. Ensure you drink an adequate amount of water leading up to your appointment to maintain the overall health of your scalp.
Skip the hair dye: If you regularly color your hair, we recommend avoiding any hair dye or chemical treatments for at least a week before your scalp treatment. This will allow your scalp to recover from any potential irritation caused by these processes.
We hope these pre-care instructions help you prepare for your head scalp treatment. If you have any further questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our salon. We look forward to providing you with a luxurious and rejuvenating experience!
